Pachaiyappa's College is a unit of Pachaiyappa's
Trust Board founded by the great philanthropist
Pachaiyappa Mudaliar, an orphan who made it from rags to
the riches by sheer dint of hard work and left all his
legacy for charities and education. Ever since its
inception in 1842, the College has been tirelessly striving
for the upliftment of the poor and the down-trodden.
Today, one of the biggest institutions in India
both in terms of the number of courses offered and students
strength, the Pachaiyappa's College is a premier
institution affiliated to the University of Madras
offering Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate courses and
M.Phil., Ph.D., and Research programs in all branches of Arts
and Science. The list of illustrious alumni of this College who
have proved their mettle in all walks of life all over the world
is an endless and ever- growing one.
But the
management, faculty and students of this great
institution do not believe in basking in the
old glory of this great institution. We keep setting up
fresh goals of excellence and achievement for ourselves
and are ever working tirelessly to translate our dreams
